The Position
The Board of the Australasian Railway Association is seeking to appoint a highly credible Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to continue to build on its strategic, operational and membership success.
The incoming CEO will represent more than 150-member organisations leading on policy, advocacy, networking, collaboration and workforce development. The CEO is accountable to the Board for the achievement of its strategic direction, delivery of imperatives and future growth.
To succeed in this position, you will have a track record in leading the operations of an Association, Peak Body or similar organisation. Knowledge of the rail sector is highly desirable and a passion for playing an instrumental role in the development of the industry is key. The role requires the highest level of corporate governance and provides sound and innovative advice to the Board. Superior advocacy and policy expertise, government relations and stakeholder engagement are key to success along with outstanding communication and media skills.
The Organisation
The Australasian Railway Association (ARA) is the peak body for the rail sector in Australia and New Zealand.
This highly active organisation represents an array of rail organisations, including private and public, passenger and freight operators, track owners and managers, manufacturers of rolling stock, construction companies and all other organisations supplying and contributing to the Australasian rail sector.
