The Position
Merri Health seeks to appoint a contemporary and dynamic CEO to build on the excellent work of the outgoing CEO, Nigel Fidgeon. The role will lead the delivery of best-practice, high quality integrated health services that strengthen the capacity of individuals and communities across the growing areas of north and west metropolitan Melbourne and the Hume region. Additionally, the role will oversee some services being provided across the entire state.
Reporting to the Board, the CEO will lead a dedicated and highly skilled team to deliver a comprehensive range of services in line with Merri Health’s strategic objectives. Engaging collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, the CEO will identify and leverage opportunities with a focus on providing outstanding client-centred care and services. The CEO will also provide vision and leadership in support of a diverse and inclusive culture where employees are highly engaged.
Equipped with a strong understanding of governance and experience in working to a Board, the CEO will be strategic, analytical and able to demonstrate a track record in driving innovative management and service delivery outcomes, ideally in a not-for-profit environment. The successful candidate will also have well developed political acumen with the ability to build productive relationships and influence and negotiate with a range of stakeholders. Experience in master planning and a sound understanding of the application of technology will be advantageous. Relevant tertiary qualifications required.

Merri Health has been a trusted community health service for over 40 years. With a reach extending from north / west metropolitan Melbourne to Wangaratta, the service currently operates from 12 sites in addition to several co-located facilities. Significantly, Merri Health is about to oversee the delivery of select services across the whole state.
Merri Health supports people throughout life, with a range of wraparound services. As a not-for-profit organisation with some 340 FTE staff, the focus of the organisation is on partnering with people, responding to local needs and strengthening the health of entire communities.
