The Position
Following the incumbent, Ian Stanistreet’s announcement to retire after 20 years of outstanding service, the Community Broadcasting Foundation Board is seeking its next Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to provide strategic leadership, governance, oversight of operations and delivery of Board policies and decisions.
Reporting to the Board, the successful candidate will oversee the facilitation of grant administration for sector capacity enhancement and liaise with government and national stakeholders regarding funding and policy matters. They will show passion and strong commitment to the purpose of Community Broadcasting Foundation and will continue strengthening the organisation. Fostering a vision of “A voice for every community” across Australia, the CEO will oversee the strategic, governance and organisational imperatives that will ensure the Community Broadcasting Foundation can support the sector.
To succeed in this position, you will have a track record as a strategic senior leader with highly developed stakeholder management, communication and commercial skills. Superior advocacy, policy expertise and government relations experience are expected. The role requires the highest level of corporate governance and sound and innovative advice to the Board. Working knowledge of community broadcasting is desirable. Relevant tertiary qualifications and a passion for media, arts and the role of community media are essential.

The Community Broadcasting Foundation (CBF) is a not for profit organisation that distributes funding to support and champion community-owned and operated media. This funding connects people and helps to tell vital, local stories so that we have vibrant Australian cultures and a healthy democracy.
Each year, the Community Broadcasting Foundation provides around $17 million in funding to support more than 450 community broadcasting services operating in communities across Australia.
The Community Broadcasting Foundation is a champion of community media, diversity, multiculturalism and social justice. The CBF supports all areas of community media including Indigenous, ethnic, regional and radio reading (RPH).
