The Position
Maryborough District Health Service seeks to appoint an outstanding Chief Executive Officer to lead the organisation into its next phase of growth. The CEO will build on the excellent work of outgoing CEO, Terry Welch, who has lead the organisation admirably over the past six years. The organisation finds itself an at exciting juncture with significant capital works projects on the horizon which will result in greater programs and services being offered as well as more education opportunities for people in the local area.
Reporting to the Board, the CEO will be responsible for providing a best-practice high quality health service that is cost-effective and responsive to government policy direction and community needs. Engaging collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, the CEO will identify and leverage opportunities with a focus on providing outstanding client-centred care and services and driving a diverse and inclusive culture where employees are highly engaged.
Equipped with senior leadership experience gained in a healthcare setting, the successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional stakeholder engagement with strategic, analytical and commercial skills in management and service delivery, coupled with the acumen to work in a complex and community focused environment. Qualifications in the field of management are required. It is envisaged that the CEO will become an identifiable participant within the Maryborough community and reside within or nearby
The Organisation
Maryborough District Health Service is located across the Local Government Areas of Central Goldfields and Pyrenees Shires in Central Victoria and provides a comprehensive range of services including urgent care, theatre, acute inpatient, residential care, home and community based services to the local population of around 15,000 people. The main campus is located in Maryborough with other services delivered from the Avoca and Dunolly campuses.
The strong clinical and social links that have been developed and nurtured between the three campuses ensure that the community is cared for by trained staff who are committed to high standards of person-centred care.
