The Board of the General Practice Registrars Australia seeks to appoint a new CEO to lead the organisation in its continued representation of GP trainees and the expansion of its members’ services. This is a key leadership role that will tangibly shape the future of general practice in Australia.
Reporting to a Board and supported by a highly committed and talented team, the CEO will be responsible for all the operational and administrative aspects of the company to ensure ongoing success. Equipped with familiarity of medical training and/or the general practice landscape in Australia, the CEO will possess well developed written and oral communication skills and will demonstrate a track record of positively influencing high level external relationships. Analytical and flexible in their approach, the appointee will be an authentic leader who is collaborative and genuinely seeks to support the future of general practice.
Established in 1974 and existing as an autonomous organisation since 2001, General Practice Registrars Australia (GPRA) supports and protects the rights of GP trainees. As the only national independent organisation run by GP trainees for GP trainees, GPRA has over 20,000 members who include medical students and junior doctors interested in general practice, GP trainees, and newly-Fellowed GPs.
GPRA is a not-for-profit organisation and provides the next generation of general practitioners with free support, advice and resources. As the voice of the future of general practice in Australia, it advocates in both the general practice sector and with the government on issues that matter to GP trainees.
