Southern Adelaide Health Network (SALHN) seeks to appoint a strategic and collaborative senior executive to the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO), ensuring the continued delivery of a comprehensive and sustainable health service, enhancing the well-being of individuals, families and communities.
Reporting to the SALHN Governing Board Chair, the CEO will lead the delivery of the network’s Strategic Direction Map 2019-2024, which has been shaped by key drivers at a national and local level. The CEO will drive a culture that is collegiate and accountable and where the patient is at the centre of all decisions. With significant infrastructure projects and the future of health care delivery on the horizon, the CEO will be future focused, innovative, and visionary.
The successful candidate will be an exceptional, contemporary CEO with proven experience in driving strategic and operational excellence across a major health service. Regarded as a highly ethical leader and with demonstrated experience influencing sustainable growth and service quality within the health sector, The CEO will lead the improvement of patient experience, clinical quality, research, and patient safety, whilst ensuring financial sustainability. The successful candidate will demonstrate the gravitas and political nous necessary to achieve positive outcomes and will win the hearts and minds across the health service, government, and community. Key attributes contributing to the success of this role will be a strong strategic mindset, exceptional communication and influencing skills, energy, and commitment.

The South Adelaide Local Health Network (SALHN) provides care for approximately 370,000 people living in the southern metropolitan area of Adelaide, as well as providing several state-wide services, and services to those in regional areas. SALHN employs in excess of 8500 staff, has a $1.3 billion turnover and is a lead provider in the state in several areas including caring for sick children and liver transplants. Eighty percent of staff live within the catchment area, with SALHN having a reputation that is family friendly and well connected to the community.
