The Position
As Portland District Health moves forward to a new era in clinical service delivery, the Board seeks to appoint a talented and visionary leader to become its new Chief Executive Officer. The community has high expectations of the organisation to provide quality, accessible and sustainable services and the new CEO can count on strong support from the Board.
Reporting to the Board, the CEO will be responsible for providing a best-practice high quality health service that is cost-effective and responsive to government policy direction and community needs. Engaging collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, the CEO will identify and leverage opportunities with a focus on providing outstanding client-centred care and services and driving an organisational culture that is respectful and cooperative with highly engaged employees.
Equipped with senior leadership experience gained in a healthcare setting, the successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional stakeholder engagement as well as strategic, analytical and commercial skills in management and service delivery within a community focused environment. Possessing a regional sensibility, the appointee to this rural role will be an energetic and resilient leader who through exemplary leadership can take the organisation on a journey into a new chapter of its evolution and success.
The Organisation
Portland District Health (PDH) provides integrated healthcare and services in the Glenelg Shire in the rural City of Portland in cooperation with other regional health services. Situated in the South West of Victoria, Portland is about 370 kilometres from Melbourne. PDH has a long and proud history of servicing this community. Today, around 475 dedicated staff provide a range of services across acute, primary health and aged residential care service.
