The Position

The Chief Financial Officer will lead the operation of the finance services functions including Financial Performance, Reporting & Business Performance, Financial Sustainability and Systems Improvement (Oracle).  Supporting a large organisation that is accountable to the community and fundamentally keeps the community safe, the CFO will collaborate across the organisation to deliver effective management and leadership and will play a key role in enabling the implementation of a new Strategic Plan.  The CFO will also drive the development of operational business plans, policy, business strategies and relationship/contract management.

As an experienced, collaborative, and consultative leader, the CFO will build trusted relationships with the Chief Commissioner and the Executive Command to ensure operational leadership and front-line services are supported. Driving best practice, the CFO will continue to develop a culture of responsiveness, efficiency and partnership so that finance and corporate services are integrated into day-to-day operations and decision making.

The successful appointee will ideally have knowledge of the public sector, or closely aligned environments with complex funding models, and have led large finance and corporate services teams. The ability to engage across functions and influence and identify opportunities for change and continuous improvement are key to the success of this role.

We seek demonstrated achievement in providing strategic and analytical skills in financial service management and delivery, comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles and regulations, together with an ability to review, interpret and assess financial sustainability.
