The City of Melbourne seeks to appoint an exceptional commercial leader to the position of Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The role leads the Finance and Procurement Branch, a key organisational enabler and business partner.
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer and managing a team of approximately 50, the CFO provides strategic advice to Council, the Chief Executive Officer, Directors and operations. The role has financial stewardship accountability for significant expenditure and revenue and is an integral part of the executive leadership team.
With a collaborative approach, the ideal candidate will have a track record as a senior and authoritative finance executive with proven success in driving innovation and change in dynamic and complex environments. Exceptional people skills, sound judgement and political astuteness are required for success in this position. Tertiary qualifications and CA or CPA accreditation is essential.
The position is offered under an Executive Contract of up to three years.
