The position
Northern Health seeks to appoint a highly experienced, strategic ICT professional to the position of Chief Information Officer. This role will lead a phase of change and transformation to deliver future focused digital platforms, tools and services. The Board of Northern Health has agreed as part of its IT Vision and Strategy to build a digital hospital. The CIO will translate this vision and strategy into reality and transform the ICT Service from a liability to a strategic asset.
As a member of the operational leadership team reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the CIO will be responsible for the strategic leadership and operational management and delivery of a range of information management and technology services. A key focus will be the strategic design and management of future-focused technology improvements.
The ideal candidate will be a highly respected and accomplished CIO who has led significant ICT teams and budgets in complex service delivery environments. Equipped with knowledge of the latest developments and future trends in ICT services and processes, the appointee will display a highly collaborative approach and will be able to effectively translate technology into meaningful terms with stakeholders. Able to work within the relevant frameworks, the CIO will also demonstrate a capacity for lateral and strategic thinking combined with strong commercial skills.  This position requires an articulate and confident CIO who has the capacity and credibility to deliver reports at Board level. Relevant tertiary qualifications required.
