The Position

Wesley College seeks to appoint a strong technology leader to the position of Chief Information Officer.  Leading a significant team and overseeing a large portfolio, the position is a critical senior leadership position that plays a vital role in the school and will be a key advisor and partner to the Principal, the Executive, and the Wesley College Council.

Reporting directly to the Principal and as a member of the College Executive, the Chief Information Officer will be responsible for the College’s information technology and data environment, ensuring the development, implementation and integration of systems, technology, and services to support the achievement of the strategic goals and objectives of the College. With a focus on ensuring a sound, reliable and integrated information management and technology framework for the College, the scope of the position will encompass IT operations, technology strategy and innovation, and the management of associated governance, compliance, and risk.

The ideal candidate will be a strong technology leader with an investigative nature and strategic sense to enable the future technology direction of the College.  With prior experience working within complex environments with multiple systems, the appointee will bring an enterprise mindset and the ability to harness and leverage many moving parts.  The appointee will have the capacity to review current systems and ensure they are commercially viable and are maximising value, providing clear guidelines of how technology is integrated and managed at the College. The incoming Chief Information Officer will be a strong people manager with an engaging personality, collegiate and relational leadership style, and the ability to manage teams of similar scale of up to 40 (internal and external). Strong stakeholder engagement skills will support the ability to understand the impact of decisions and how they affect people, departments, and the wider organisation. The ability to think creatively about how to achieve successful outcomes will be critical to success in this position.
