Alfred Health seeks to appoint a dynamic, collaborative and innovative Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) to provide leadership of nursing services to ensure the delivery of world class standards. Working closely with directors, senior clinical leaders, administrative and managerial staff the CNO will ensure the seamless delivery of strategies, policies and programs that reflect best practice models of integrated health care.
Reporting to the CEO, the CNO will have a strong strategic and leadership focus across areas including workforce planning, fundamentals of care, professional standards and education, and the full utilisation of the EMR. The CNO will ensure Alfred Health has skilled and competent workforce through the recruitment and retention of permanent staff in addition to providing for an adequate supply of nursing and nursing support staff. The position will additionally supervise the leadership of Alfred Health Allied Health services to meet ongoing clinical services and provide for non-clinical support services, ensuring nurses have the maximum influence over the patient environment. Presenting with highly effective interpersonal and influencing skills, the CNO will support nursing teams to identify and deliver on continuous improvement activities.
The successful candidate will demonstrate extensive executive level nursing experience in a large, complex multi-disciplinary healthcare organisation. With a track record of leading and managing large change initiatives, the appointee will demonstrate a strong commitment to clinical excellence. Presenting as strategic, innovative, adaptable and trustworthy, the appointee will be a natural problem solver and demonstrate the capability to continue to positively develop a high performing culture. Known as an ardent advocate for the Nursing profession and recognised as a leader with highly developed people management skills who readily fosters a climate that supports the growth and development of individuals the appointee will be personable in style and open to explore and collaborate on ideas.
