The Position

Ballarat Clarendon College is one of the most consistently high-performing, non-selective, independent schools in Australia. The Chief Operating Officer is a critical senior leadership position and reports directly to the Principal as the CEO of the School. The Chief Operating Officer holds oversight of the business services functions including property and facilities, legal and compliance, human resources, marketing and communication, ICT, school administration, projects and development. In this position the Chief Operating Officer is a member of the School Executive.

The ideal candidate will be a contemporary leader, demonstrating broad strategic leadership, operational management experience and strong financial skills. The appointee will have the capability to deliver transformational change through collaboration. Displaying an innovative and empowering approach, exceptional financial analysis skills combined with strong operational and project management capability. Presenting with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ideal candidate will display high energy and a hands-on approach.

The Chief Operating Officer is a highly visible position in the school community and the appointee will demonstrate an ability to build trust, rapport and develop collaborative working relationships at all levels.

Ballarat Clarendon College is the fifth oldest private school in Victoria, opening on 6 July 1864 at St Andrew’s Presbyterian church as Ballarat College.

In 1974, Ballarat College and Clarendon Presbyterian Ladies College formally joined to become Ballarat Clarendon College.
