The Position
Latrobe Regional Hospital seeks to appoint a team-oriented and innovative Chief Operating Officer (COO) to provide executive leadership for this critical healthcare service.  Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the COO will provide high level strategic and operational advice and will ensure the delivery of a high standard of integrated health care services.  With responsibility for the organisation and management of programs and resources, the COO will drive a culture of continuous improvement and future development.  The COO will manage a number of key projects which will ensure the hospital is well positioned to support current and future needs in the community.
The successful candidate will be a collaborative leader with an understanding of contemporary clinical practice, coupled with the ability to operate at both a strategic and operational level within this growing organisation. Presenting with an engaging and consultative leadership style, the ideal candidate will be action oriented and have demonstrated leadership, change management, negotiation and influencing skills.  A natural ability to build broad and effective stakeholder relationships will ensure success in this critical role. Appropriate tertiary qualifications are required.
The Organisation
Latrobe Regional Hospital (LRH) is Gippsland’s specialist referral and trauma centre and is one of the region’s largest employers with more than 1900 staff.
The facility is a purpose-built teaching hospital which cares for a population of more than 260,000 people.  LRH provide emergency care, elective surgery, maternity, aged care, rehabilitation, pharmacy and mental health services both at the hospital and sites across the Gippsland region. Medical and radiation oncology is provided by the Gippsland Cancer Care Centre at LRH.
