The Position
Barwon Health seeks a dynamic and innovative senior Chief Operating Officer (COO) to take accountability for the breadth of the organisation’s operations including medical, surgical, maternity, aged care, palliative care and mental health.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the COO will develop and implement a strategic services plan to ensure high quality patient care and movement is achieved while meeting key service targets across multiple health services. With responsibility for the organisation and management of programs and resources, the COO will drive a culture of continuous improvement and future development.
The successful candidate will be an experienced and innovative leader ideally with a clinical background, coupled with the ability to operate at both a strategic and operational level within a complex organisation. Presenting with a collaborative and consultative leadership style, the ideal candidate will be action oriented and have demonstrated leadership, change management, negotiation and influencing skills. A natural ability to build broad and effective stakeholder relationships, while challenging the status quo, will ensure success in this critical role. Appropriate tertiary qualifications are required.
