The Position

This is a great opportunity to bring your people, HR and culture experience to a role that combines strategic leadership, operations, capability and culture uplift at an organisational level.

As the Chief People Officer, you will directly lead a small autonomous team, and sponsor people and culture building initiatives. You will support the organisation through influential leadership to build people as our most valuable assets.

Your ability to embed yourself as a trusted people advisor to our senior management group, giving actionable insights as well as leading top notch HR operations will be critical to your success. Your personal agility, commitment to service excellence and subject matter expertise that delivers pragmatic results will also contribute. VAGO operates in a digitally-enabled environment which supports our flexible working arrangements, so your ability to leverage these capabilities will be important.

Skills & Experience

  • Values driven direct and influential leadership
  • Proven track record in strategic HR leadership, preferably in a people-based organisation
  • An allrounder with strong understanding of contemporary HR strategies, culture and capability uplift, HR operations, industrial relations and compliance
  • Strong facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills

 

Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources Management/ Industrial Relations or a related field, and postgraduate qualifications are desirable. Prior public sector or external audit is not necessary.

 

The Organisation

The Auditor-General provides assurance to Parliament on the accountability and performance of the Victorian public sector.

VAGO conducts over 550 financial and performance audits annually across portfolios including infrastructure, transport, health and social services, education, water, local government, insurance, justice, treasury and superannuation.
