The Position

Ballarat Clarendon College is one of the most consistently high-performing, non-selective, independent schools in Australia. The Chief People Officer (CPO) will play a pivotal role in Clarendon’s learning organisation culture. The ideal candidate will be a visionary leader with the capacity to think analytically and contribute meaningfully to strategic planning. The CPO will provide a people and culture strategic and operational service and advice to the Principal, the Board, Executive Team and key staff at Ballarat Clarendon College.

As an experienced and contemporary human resources professional with experience across the complete HR portfolio, the incoming CPO will demonstrate the ability to lead the entire employee lifecycle. The successful candidate will demonstrate a hands-on approach and willingness to work collaboratively complemented by strong communication skills, a community mindset, and a down-to-earth cultural style. The ability to generate ideas and execute considered and disciplined plans will be essential.

Ballarat Clarendon College is an independent, co-educational, day and boarding school located in Ballarat, Victoria.

Ballarat Clarendon College is the fifth oldest private school in Victoria, opening on 6 July 1864 at St Andrew’s Presbyterian church as Ballarat College.

In 1974, Ballarat College and Clarendon Presbyterian Ladies College formally joined to become Ballarat Clarendon College.
