The Position
The Chief Steward at Greyhound Racing Victoria plays a critical leadership position in ensuring the delivery of the highest degree of fair and transparent practices for the sport.
Reporting to the General Manager, Integrity, the Chief Steward oversees Victorian greyhound racing standards and will develop and manage innovative policies and procedures to maintain and enhance racing operations. Central to this position is the guidance and leadership of a large group of stewards and data operators, coordinating all inquiries and appeals, preparing and presenting documents of evidence and representing GRV in formal proceedings.
The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator with the ability to manage diverse groups of people. You will be adept at evaluating and researching issues to present concise conclusions whilst establishing and maintaining effective and high value working relationships. You will have a deep understanding of the racing industry and the ethical issues in greyhound racing.
