Working as part of the larger Transport Services team, the Chief Train Services will oversee the metropolitan and regional train networks throughout Victoria which is relied upon by passengers to make over 260 million trips each year. Leading on the strategic planning process for Train Services, this role will lead the commercial negotiations with train operators, their suppliers and legal advisors as well as oversee the delivery of improvement projects.
As an authentic leader, you will be responsible for driving a high-performance culture that initiates, lead and drives building capability in franchise and contract management. The ability to influence and negotiate with key stakeholders, including major delivery agencies, is essential to success in the role and to creating a more integrated approach. The successful candidate will have similar experience in a technical role within transport or infrastructure and a sound knowledge of train services. The ability to operate under pressure in sensitive environments is expected.
