Clinical Trials Network Manager
- Newly created role
- Establish a new clinical and scientific trials network
- Build a national research platform for endometriosis
The Position
This three-year project, funded by the Medical Research Future Fund, will establish the National Endometriosis Clinical and Scientific Trials Network. This will comprise a national database of patients, a national linked repository for biological samples and an analysis of existing clinical, basic science and translational research databases nationwide.
The appointee will be responsible for overseeing the development of a coherent project management system for the network, which will include a clinical trials database, custodial
protocols, governance and document management, financial management, milestone reporting, and acquittals. This role would suit a dynamic self-starter with previous clinical trials or research management administration experience and a willingness to travel extensively within Australia. There will be a requirement to provide timely, expert advice to clinicians and researchers for study-specific issues. Exceptional communication skills are essential, as is an understanding of patient community involvement in research.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in governance of multi-site research and/or clinical trials with experience in human research ethics processes, patient recruitment, biobanking collection and curation conventions. A higher research degree is not an essential requirement, but would be advantageous. Thorough knowledge of relevant standard operating procedures and familiarity with the NHMRC/ARC/UA Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research is highly desirable.
