Charles Sturt University is seeking an experienced individual to drive the transformation of learning and teaching, focussing on excellence, academic quality, and education innovation. This includes leading the critical focus area of the development and implementation of the digital learning and teaching strategy across the University.
As the successful candidate you will play a critical role in advising and assisting the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Learning and Teaching) in the day-to-day management of staff in the Division and the management of stakeholder relationships, internally and externally. Operating in a matrix structure, you will support the PVC to deliver innovative learning and teaching initiatives with a student-centred approach, while building partnerships with the faculties. You will achieve this through oversight, planning and monitoring of the performance of your teams and operations, as well as through leadership, influence and negotiation with other stakeholders to direct successful implementation of the university strategy and continuous improvement projects.
You will hold a PhD and an outstanding record of scholarship in a field relevant to innovation and excellence in learning and teaching gained in contemporary environments. Â This will be combined with a commitment to outstanding student experience and a thorough understanding of cutting-edge approaches to academic program design, delivery and improvement that harnesses high-quality digital learning in program delivery.
With previous senior leadership experience in leading transformation while motivating teams to excel in complex organisational structures, you will demonstrate outstanding interpersonal skills and a successful track record of building relationships and partnerships across an institution.
You will bring a comprehensive knowledge of the tertiary education sector, having led the delivery of innovative, creative and evidence-based solutions that leverage best practice in areas such as course and subject design, online learning resource development, embedded digital technologies, use of learning analytics, academic development, and education for sustainability.

The Division of Learning and Teaching (DLT) works in partnership with faculties, schools and divisions to deliver exceptional learning and teaching experiences for our staff and students. It does this through providing leadership and support in course and subject design and development, academic development, and learning technologies with a focus on academic quality. The Division supports learning through leadership and expertise in online, face to face, blended and hi-flex delivery.
With approximately 30,000 students studying online, on campus and in a hi-flex environment, this position would ideally be based in Wagga Wagga or Bathurst.
