The Position
The Australian International School, Hong Kong (AISHK) seeks to appoint an exceptional leader to the position of Deputy Head of Secondary.
The successful candidate must be internationally minded whilst possessing a commitment to lead a vision of cohesion and diversity in harmony with Australian values.
A member of the School Leadership Team, the Deputy Head of Secondary reports to the Head of Secondary and Head of School and works closely with other key stakeholders within the School. Supporting the Head of Secondary, the Deputy Head of Secondary ensures high quality curriculum delivery and pastoral care programs in the Secondary that promote student wellbeing. The Deputy Head of Secondary leads the student wellbeing and pastoral care programs, working closely with Heads of Year and Home Room teachers.
The Deputy Head of Secondary also plays a key role in ensuring the individual needs of all learners are identified and supported, liaising with the Head of Learning Support and School Psychologist Secondary.
The ideal candidate will be an outstanding educational leader who is passionate about learning, teaching and setting high expectations for every student whilst modelling exemplary teaching and leadership practice.
The Organisation
Situated in the Kowloon Tong District of Hong Kong, Australian International School Hong Kong (AISHK) is a non-profit, co-educational day school for students from Reception to Year 12.
AISHK is the only Australian International School in Hong Kong and it provides a world class international school experience where students achieve their personal best and graduate as skilled, influential, compassionate and responsible citizens. AISHK offers a uniquely International Curriculum embedded with the values of excellence, respect, honesty, diligence, collaboration, trust, responsibility, integrity, equity and creativity.
Students in Years 7-10 complete the NSW Stage 4 and 5 curriculum. In Year 11 and 12 the students have a choice of either the NSW HSC or IB DP.
Essential
- A proven track record as a leader in a school with experience in leading and developing curriculum and pedagogy.
- Bachelor Degree in Education, or Bachelor Degree in any subjects with PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate of Education).
It is anticipated final interviews will be held in Hong Kong at Australian International School in August 2024.
The starting date for the position is January 2025.
