The Position
Radford College seeks to appoint an exceptional and dynamic leader to the position of Deputy Principal and Head of Secondary School.  This is a key leadership position, reporting to the Principal and will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Secondary School and the strategic direction of the whole of the College including the academic, cultural, co–curricular and welfare needs of the students.
The Deputy Principal and Head of Secondary School will have a broad perspective across the entire school, working collaboratively with the Senior Executive and providing input to the strategic direction of the College.  With a key role in ensuring the Secondary School provides a positive and supporting culture for all, the appointee will provide open and regular communication and engagement for parents, student and staff.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of the independent school sector and demonstrate experience gained in a large school environment.  With an outstanding knowledge and understanding of secondary education, the appointee will lead and deliver best practice initiatives as they relate to curriculum and pastoral care from a national and international stage.  Presenting with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, the appointee will display high energy, ambition, and a hands-on approach with high level organisational, planning, analytical and strategic thinking capabilities.  Experience in a co-educational environment along with knowledge and experience of the International Baccalaureate, will be well regarded but not essential.  The appointee will be supportive of the Anglican/Christian values of empathy and respect, reflecting the schools’ values.  Possessing an affinity and genuine interest in working in an environment that nurtures the development and growth of students, the appointee will engage across the life of the school including weekend sport and extracurricular activities.
