The Position
Gippsland Grammar seeks to appoint an exceptional and participatory leader to the position of Deputy Principal Teaching and Learning.  As a member of the School’s Leadership Team, the Deputy Principal will report directly to the Principal and will be responsible for progressing an outstanding culture of learning across the School’s three campuses.
The Deputy Principal Teaching and Learning will be responsible for building a learning community through improving student development and achievement as well as improving academic programs and classroom pedagogies.  The position encompasses all three campuses, with a view to improve quality teaching and learning aligned with the values and strategic direction of the School.  The Deputy will drive a strategy of visible learning, providing a critical role in not only leading the learning programs but also improving the people who deliver them.  The Deputy will ensure professional learning programs are effective and supported by complementary appraisal processes.
The successful candidate will possess a strong knowledge of contemporary learning combined with a discernable passion for the classroom.  Presenting with outstanding interpersonal skills and a natural ability to engage with and influence at all levels, the appointee will demonstrate an ability to lead sustained and considered curriculum change for the School.  It is expected the appointee will present as a strong, open-minded leader who is able to foster the development of new directions and support the required changes in a considered and supportive manner.  The appointee will demonstrate a track record of success in curriculum and staff leadership at an executive level within a school environment, with experience in a regional setting highly regarded.
