The Organisation
Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER) undertakes research and development and promotes effective, research-informed policies and practices to improve learning and educational outcomes.
Partnerships and funding support from external organisations play an important role in enhancing ACER’s capacity to make an impact and pursue its mission of Improving Learning through research and initiatives. The ACER Foundation is a deductible gift recipient (DGR) fund that facilitates external funding from philanthropic, corporate social responsibility (CSR) and private giving sources. The ACER Foundation Advisory Board provides advice and support for ACER’s external funding and partnerships activity.
The Opportunity
The Director, Philanthropy and Partnerships is responsible for fundraising, partner engagement and alumni relations in support of ACER’s strategic research and initiatives. Building and maintaining long-term, sustainable relationships with corporate organisations, philanthropic trusts and foundations will be key aspects to the role.
The Director, Philanthropy and Partnerships will report to the Chair, ACER Foundation Advisory Board and will work closely with internal research stakeholders to facilitate high quality applications for external funding and partnerships.
This will be a part time (0.4 to 0.6 FTE) position.
About You
ACER is seeking an exceptional leader with extensive experience working in philanthropic funding, partnership initiatives and/or fundraising and business development. They will have a high level of understanding and appreciation of the imperative of alumni engagement and fundraising and the challenges involved. With a proven track record in building effective and productive partnerships, you will hold bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline and will have a strong commitment to education
