The Department of Education and Training (DET) is a highly regarded Victorian government department that leads the delivery of education and development services to children, young people and adults, both directly through government schools and indirectly through the regulation and funding of early childhood services, non-government schools and training programs.
The Higher Education and Skills Group (HES) is leading the delivery of a range of key government skills reforms across the post-secondary tertiary education sector. This includes establishing the new Victoria Skills Authority (VSA), the Office of TAFE Coordination and Delivery (OTCD) as a separate office within DET, a Dedicated Adult, Community and Further Education (ACFE) Division, and Apprenticeships Victoria as a branded division within the HES. These reforms require new ways of working, both between the new entities and with our stakeholders.
The OTCD plays a system leadership and management role for the TAFE network across Victoria. The Division is primarily responsible for driving change in the way in which the TAFE network engages with government, operates and serves Victorian students and communities.
Structural changes have led to the creation of new executive roles.
DET is seeking expressions of interest for the following executive roles from highly experienced candidates with the required capabilities to deliver against government objectives for HES and OTCD. The executives will play a leading role in ensuring the successful operationalisation of the new OTCD business unit and the realigned HED Group, as well as the VSA.
