Director Community Wellbeing

The Director Community Wellbeing is responsible for planning and delivering efficient and effective programs and services within this impactful and broad Directorate. With seven direct reports, the role has accountability for leading a positive and ‘can do’ approach with over 350 staff covering aging, community & place, children & families, strategic projects, Aboriginal communities, and active & creative portfolios. Success in this role is about promoting and growing economic, social and cultural development and wellbeing community wide.
With a track record of building high performing teams, and successfully delivering complex projects and change initiatives, you will be a collaborative leader who thrives in developing internal and external partnerships and buy in from diverse communities. The appointee may be rotated between Director roles over time and will bring strength in core executive capabilities including finance, governance and strategic thinking.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of local government and be driven by continuous improvement and modernisation that is responsive to changes in community trends and expectations. An appropriate tertiary qualification, or an equivalent combination of qualifications and/or experience is essential.
