The Position
The Director, Corporate Communications and Partnerships is a senior executive position within the VicRoads Joint Venture (JV).  Reporting to the Chief of Corporate Services and Risk, the position leads a team responsible for digital and web platforms as well as stakeholder engagement. The role oversees all official internal and external communications inclusive of staff communications, press releases, emails and media response. The position will drive and deliver the agenda to ensure all official communications are aligned with organisational strategy, with key messaging remaining consistent.
Essential to success is embedding a culture of customer centricity and building strong relationships across the JV, the Department of Transport other government agencies, and external partners to influence and negotiate quality outcomes.
The role will be accountable for implementing the communications and partnerships strategy that aligns with the broader organisational directions. As a senior executive, you will contribute to an organisational culture of high performance and inclusiveness and will actively role model organisational values.
You will be an accomplished specialist executive, drawing on prior experience leading a division or functional area across a large complex organisation. Known for your ability to synthesise complex information to disseminate in a simple, customer focused manner, you will have highly developed verbal and written communication skills including the ability to articulate key messages to staff at different levels across the organisation, as well as reviewing and approving a wide variety of documentation.
The Organisation
VicRoads is responsible for licensing approximately five million drivers in Victoria, and registering more than six million cars, motorcycles, heavy vehicles and trailers for the Victorian road network.
The Victorian Government has made an in-principle decision to progress a joint venture model for VicRoads Registration & Licensing, and Custom Plates. The purpose of a joint venture is to modernise a number of VicRoads services to make them more user friendly for motorists and deliver value for money for Victorians.
This is an exciting opportunity to ensure registration and licensing as well as customer plate products and services will be simple, accessible, fast and convenient, ensuring the government delivers contemporary digital systems to all VicRoads customers, industry partners and stakeholders.
