Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER) undertakes research and development and promotes effective, research-informed policies and practices to improve learning and educational outcomes.
ACER’s objective is to have significant influence on educational policy and practice, particularly in the countries in which they operate, to enhance ACER’s global brand and reputation as a source of quality research-based advice and influence. Advocacy is a key element of this work.
The Opportunity
The Director, Corporate Communications provides strategic communication leadership to promote the organisation’s mandate and to develop a coherent advocacy agenda. This is delivered through contemporary communication tools, stakeholder engagement, events and campaign and media management.
Working closely with the CEO, COO and members of the senior executive, the Director, Corporate Communications will play a leading role in the development and maintenance of ACER’s image and profile both nationally and internationally, and further the sustained growth of the ACER brand. The Director, Corporate Communications leads the Corporate Communications, Online Services and Creative Services teams.
About You
ACER is seeking an exceptional leader with extensive experience working in an advocacy / corporate communications role. They will have demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team of communications, creative and technical professionals. With a proven track record in building effective and productive partnerships, you will hold relevant postgraduate tertiary qualification in public relations, journalism or other related area.
