With responsibility for industry engagement, international recruitment, marketing strategy and business growth, the Director, Future Students and Industry will drive business development and partnerships, leading consistent, high quality delivery across course portfolios that meet industry needs.
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer and leading and managing key engagement activities, the Director will provide strategic leadership to the Future Students portfolio, collaborating with colleagues across all campuses and areas to realise the organisation’s commitment to working with and for its diverse communities, optimising community benefit, impact and exchange.  Building and managing networks across education, government and beyond, the role represents TasTAFE in a range of contexts, advancing and enhancing its interests and reputation.
With a commercial and strategic mindset, the successful candidate will be attuned to opportunity and sustainable delivery.  Strong communication, interpersonal and networking skills will be essential to build and nurture relationships with a range of stakeholders.  Experience in leading teams through change, promoting the vision and living the values of the organisation will be key.  The appointee is expected to hold relevant tertiary qualifications and bring a track record in promoting strong and sustained business growth.
The Organisation
With a commitment to meeting Tasmanian community expectations and offering a range of flexible study options and support services to around 22,000 students, TasTAFE is a Tasmanian government statutory authority and Registered Training Organisation.  It is the largest provider of vocational education and training in Tasmania and is governed by an independent Statutory Board consisting of up to seven members appointed by the Minister for Education and Training.
With a purpose to lead the development of Tasmania’s skilled workforce, TasTAFE offers more than 200 nationally accredited and industry-endorsed qualifications across more than 30 industry areas, from a network of seven major campuses and contemporary training facilities, with over 900 staff.
