Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools Ltd (MACS) seeks an outstanding individual to take a key executive role in realising the mission of Catholic education, promoting strong, shared leadership, creativity and innovative practice. This important position will lead a multi-disciplinary team in undertaking a diverse range of critical tasks to implement new and strengthened governance arrangements.
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director will build a high-performing and committed team, promoting a culture of performance and development. The role will lead risk management and internal assurance, policy development, strategic planning and performance assessment within MACS, and reporting against the achievement of MACS objectives.
With appropriate tertiary qualifications, the successful candidate will be experienced in leading high-performing teams in at least one of the areas of risk management, internal assurance and reporting, policy development and performance assessment, especially in relation to schools. With outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, the Director will bring executive level experience in leadership and a collaborative mindset. A commitment to the vision and mission of Catholic education is also essential, acting in accordance with the values of integrity, inclusivity, respect and excellence.
The Organisation
The newly-established Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools Ltd (MACS) will be responsible for the governance and operation of almost 300 schools.
With a profound footprint across the community, Melbourne is the largest diocese in Australia and altogether, Catholic schools in the Archdiocese educate more than 153,000 students in Victoria and employ over 20,000 teachers and support staff.
