Fiji National University (FNU) is the national university of Fiji, the dynamic hub of the South Pacific. FNU is a large and complex organisation, with 10 campuses across the Fiji Islands, 1,600 staff and 24,000 students. The University seeks a new Director, Human Resources to join the next leg of its exciting journey.
FNU is seeking an experienced senior HR practitioner who can help to raise organisational performance, strengthening the quality of the University’s teaching and research. The Director, Human Resources will support efforts to improve staff welfare and make FNU the employer of choice for academic and support staff. The ideal candidate will bring good experience of operating internationally, with the ability to ensure that FNU can attract and retain the best talent from around the world.
The Director, Human Resources directs all of the people functions of FNU and is responsible for strategic human resources planning to drive organisational efficiency and effectiveness. The appointee will embed and nurture a culture of respect, responsibility and high performance; attract to the University the best global talent available; and position FNU as the tertiary employer of choice in Fiji.
The Director, Human Resources will maintain awareness and knowledge of HR best practice policies and trends within the tertiary education sector worldwide in order to implement and maintain best practice at FNU. The Director will lead continuous improvement in compensation and benefits, learning and development, talent resourcing, employee relations, performance management and change management.
