The Position
The Department for Education is seeking a dynamic and experienced executive with a strong understanding of international education markets to lead a high performing, multidisciplinary team to drive the International Education Services (IES) agenda at a state, national and international level.
Reporting to the Executive Director, Strategic Policy and External Relations, the Director will lead the management of commercial and non-commercial activities to deliver on a broad range of strategic plans and objectives, continuing an existing growth trajectory.
The Director will be a credible leader with outstanding communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively to build strong and effective relationships with government and international stakeholders, ensuring intercultural sensitivity.  An understanding of and experience in public sector delivery structure and systems will be essential, with strong financial acumen and demonstrated experience of effective budget management.  Commercially-minded and future-focussed, the successful candidate will be able to influence and advocate with clear communication and facilitation and will be able to take a whole-of government approach where required.

South Australian government schools have been providing study abroad experiences to international students since 1989.  With over 100 schools accredited to deliver the International Student Program, IES aims to continue to increase South Australia’s share of overseas students in the government school sector. offering international students a broad range of short- and long-term study programs to choose from.
