The Board of International House (IH) seeks an outstanding candidate to lead the strategic and operational management of this highly regarded college, based in Brisbane at the University of Queensland.
Responsible for the social mission, key relationships and an outstanding resident experience, the Director ensures the provision of a safe, high-quality living and learning environment for students, fostering a strong community, and integrating academic and residential life. In addition, preparing strategic and operational plans; managing finances and facilities; staff and residents; and alumni engagement.
About International House
International House offers 242 spacious, modern, individual rooms that are catered or self-catered for Australian and international students participating in tertiary studies or events at the University of Queensland or other institutions nearby.

The ideal candidate
With a commitment to providing a supportive community for residents and a genuine interest in preparing young people for a global career, the ideal candidate will be empathetic with strong cultural sensitivity. Previous experience in the education sector is essential, coupled with outstanding communication skills to effectively engage with a broad stakeholder base, including working closely with the Board, UQ stakeholders and students. A problem-solving approach, resourcefulness and a willingness to be hands-on in operational management will also be key to success. The Director communicates the strategic vision which is determined with the Board and keeps abreast of sector developments, identifying opportunities to ensure the long-term success of IH.

The position is offered on a five-year fixed term contract with an attractive remuneration package, including access to a four-bedroom onsite residence and fully maintained vehicle.
