The Position
Peninsula Health recognises that digital technology is the cornerstone for a contemporary health service and is embarking on an ambitious program of digital transformation, harnessing the power of data and technology for improved quality of care and productivity.  As part of this journey, the organisation now has an opportunity for a Director IT Operations to lead the delivery of fit for purpose ICT services across all Peninsula Health sites.
Reporting to and working closely with the CIO, the Director IT Operations will lead a large team and provide technical expertise across all layers of ICT Operations including service desk, mobile device support, application and integration services, network and communication services, cybersecurity and ICT risk management. As a consultative leader who has supported cultural change in an operational environment, the Director will build capability within the team and support the business through upskilling and education across the workforce.  Building trusted relationships and an ecosystem of external partners, the Director will ensure the organisation is well supported in the future within the ICT operations space from both a BAU and project perspective.
As an experienced operational leader the appointee will have knowledge of the health sector or closely related complex environment and have worked with teams through significant change within the operational ICT area.  Resilience and highly developed problem-solving skills will be key to the success of this role, as will the ability to balance the current needs of the organisation and future capability. This position requires an individual who can work across all levels of the organisation, and who embraces change and the improvement of services.

The Organisation
Peninsula Health is the major metropolitan health service for Frankston and the Mornington Peninsula.  Caring for a population of 300,000 people, which swells to over 400,000 people during the peak tourism seasons, the organisation provides care across the life continuum from obstetrics, paediatrics, emergency medicine, intensive care, critical care, surgical and general medicine, rehabilitation, and oncology, through to aged care and palliative care.  With over 6000 staff and 750 volunteers, the organisation also provides services in community health, health education and promotion, ambulatory care, and mental health.
Peninsula Health has undergone significant growth and transformation in recent years and is recognised as a leading metropolitan health service and major teaching and research hospital.  The organisation has been on a journey towards digitisation for many years and has actively sought opportunities to improve access to digital infrastructure, applications and systems to enhance the safety, quality, connectedness and efficiency of the service.
