The Position
The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) seeks to appoint a highly collaborative and committed leader to the position of Director, Mallee Area to develop and foster strategic partnerships across the local community. Partnering with external service providers, local businesses and other government agencies, the Director will ensure continuous improvement of health and human service outcomes for the community.
Reporting to the DHHS’s Deputy Secretary, North Division, the Director, Mallee Area will drive a collaborative and integrated human service system that considers the clients’ life circumstances and will work with individuals and families to support clients to improve their lives. Taking a highly strategic and client centric approach, the Director, Mallee Area is expected to be creative and develop innovative initiatives.
Equipped with experience overseeing the delivery of high quality health and/or human services, the successful candidate will have a track record of making a difference to the lives of people at the community level. The successful candidate will be a contemporary leader who has led positive change through collaborative partnerships and who is able to demonstrate a commitment to live in the area and be integrated in to the local community. Appropriate tertiary qualifications required.

The North Division of the Victorian Government’s Department of Health & Human Services is responsible for service delivery, performance and quality improvements across the geographic areas of Northern Victoria.
The Mallee area covers four local government areas and comprises a socially and economically diverse population with a number of communities in the area identified as areas of relative social disadvantage.
