Monash University seeks an outstanding individual to provide leadership to Monash Residential Services (MRS), a pre-eminent student accommodation service providing and managing three thousand residential rooms.  With a range of on and off-campus accommodation options, services extend to students, staff, the business community and short-term visitors to the University.

Reporting to the Executive Director, Campus Community and working with a range of stakeholders across the University, the Director, MRS is responsible for the ongoing commercial, financial and capacity management of a diverse portfolio of residential accommodation.  The Director leads and oversees the portfolio as a commercial operation, ensuring financial sustainability, service excellence and innovation.

The ideal candidate will bring outstanding leadership, interpersonal skills and high levels of intercultural competence, with the ability to inspire and motivate high performing teams and to negotiate, persuade and influence a range of stakeholders to achieve strategic objectives.  High levels of emotional intelligence, empathy and resilience will be key to supporting the student community.  With a commercial mindset and financial management skills, the Director will enjoy operating in a competitive environment, displaying strengths in conceptual and analytical thinking and a problem-solving approach.  An existing track record in residential operations will be expected, ideally gained in a university setting.  The successful candidate will hold relevant qualifications in business, commerce or another relevant discipline.
