The Position
Reporting to the Principal the Director of Advancement is a senior Executive position within the School responsible for the strategic development and management of the broader Mentone Grammar community. The scope of the position encompasses marketing and public relations, event management, publications, fundraising, archives and The Mentonians Association. The Director of Advancement will provide leadership for an existing, strong team and will work with them to develop greater levels of integration between the portfolios.
The appointee will present with an entrepreneurial and strategic mindset and will be familiar with the utilisation of data and market research in the process of setting strategy. With a natural ability to foster and establish relationships, the appointee will strengthen positive community engagement across all stakeholder groups.
The successful candidate will ideally possess an understanding of the education sector, however candidates with strong transferable experience within other sectors such as health and not-for-profit will be well regarded. Presenting with exceptional communication, interpersonal and advocacy skills, the appointee will display a strong alignment to the School’s overarching vision and values. The ability to manage and develop multiple portfolios to a high standard is essential, combined with a demonstrated ability to develop growth and marketing strategy. Additionally, strong fund-raising skills are desirable. The appointee will display a strong alignment to the School’s overarching vision and values.
 
The Organisation
Mentone Grammar delivers outstanding education in bayside Melbourne from Early Learning through to Year 12.  Mentone Grammar is renowned for its successful learning model of Together-Apart-Together, where girls and boys in the Middle Years (5-9) learn within a coeducational environment in gender specific classes.  In Early Learning through to Year 4 and in Years 10-12, students learn in a fully coeducational environment.  An extensive cocurricular program complements the Teaching and Learning curriculum.  Mentone Grammar will celebrate its Centenary in 2023, which is a major milestone for the School and the community.
