The Position

St. Catherine’s School seeks to appoint a strategic leader to the position of Director of Business. This is a critical senior leadership position with oversight of business services to the school including the functions of property and facilities, finance, payroll, legal and compliance, ICT, projects, and development.

Reporting directly to the Principal as the Chief Executive Officer of the School, the Director of Business is a member of the School Senior Leadership Team and as Secretary to the School Board also has responsibilities to the Board. The School’s strong position has laid the foundation for further expansion and growth in the coming years and the Director of Business will provide essential advice, guidance, planning and management. The successful appointee will join an outstanding Senior Leadership Team who have created an enjoyable work environment and a sense of balance.

The Director of Business is a highly visible position in the school and the appointee will demonstrate an ability to build trust, rapport and develop collaborative working relationships at all levels. The ideal candidate will be a strategic and operational leader with considerable experience in leading, implementing and reviewing quality processes and strategies. With demonstrated strong financial, operational, risk and governance experience gained within an independent school or similar environment, the appointee will have the ability to manage programs including risk, budget, capital works and resource management. Presenting with outstanding interpersonal skills the successful candidate will foster a positive and dynamic working environment and promote excellent working relationships between teaching and non-teaching staff to deliver first rate outcomes for students, staff, and the community.
