Queenwood seeks to appoint a strategic and collaborative leader to the position of Director of Development. The position offers an exciting opportunity to create and lead a professional fundraising program at a highly progressive organisation.
Reporting directly to the Principal, the successful candidate will deliver the stakeholder engagement and fundraising strategies; work closely with the School leadership team and senior volunteers; and lead a small team in delivering events and communications for alumnae, parents, the local community and other potential supporters.
Presenting with exceptional communication, interpersonal and advocacy skills, the appointee will display high level expertise in fundraising as this will be a significant point of focus for the position.
Other key areas of expertise will include events management and community engagement, while an understanding of developing a culture of giving will be highly regarded. The ideal candidate will be an energetic leader who demonstrates a willingness to be an active member of the school community. Displaying an innovative and collaborative mindset, the appointee will build trust, rapport and develop long-term working relationships at all levels. The ideal candidate will exhibit an affinity to the school environment, and in particular independent girls’ education, however prior experience in an education setting is not essential.
Queenwood was established as an independent, non-denominational Christian school in 1925. Its founders were women who were dedicated to the education of girls and young women, and equipping them for effective, purposeful and fulfilling lives. Today the School offers a strong academic curriculum Kindergarten – 12, within a broad and balanced program of co-curricular activities. With approximately 900 students from Kindergarten – Year 12, it provides a broad range of subjects and programs in a personalised environment, where each girl is individually known. Queenwood students consistently achieve highly in public examinations, and in a wide variety of co-curricular activities.
The International Baccalaureate Diploma Program and the Higher School Certificate are offered as parallel pathways in Years 11 and 12. The IB credential embodies a particular educational philosophy and is widely recognised internationally.
