Director of Governance

The Position
The position of Director of Governance will play a key role in leading all areas of legislative and regulatory compliance and ensure the College has an understanding of all necessary policies and procedures for operation of the school.  Reporting to the Principal and working closely with the Director of Human Resources and Director of Safeguarding, this key position will create clear and strong links between strategy, policy, process and compliance.  The Director of Governance will have an independent reporting line into the Board Governance and Risk Committee.
With responsibility for strategic leadership in all matters related to College Governance, the Director will provide advice to the Principal in relation to governance, registration and risk, develop and monitor staff training in all EREA and College policies, and support the implementation of strategic directions as they relate to governance.
The ideal candidate will be a collaborative leader with significant management experience and a strong understanding of governance and risk within education or similar environments where transparency, oversight and action underpin all responsibilities.  The appointee will have a strategic focus and the ability to communicate with influence to drive results and build and nurture both internal and external relationships.  Experience in a regulatory environment and/or the education sector is highly desirable, as is a tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline or extensive experience in a similar role.
