Melbourne Grammar School seeks to appoint an engaging and collaborative leader to the position of Director of Human Resources. This position holds responsibility for the HR function at Melbourne Grammar School, including developing and implementing the overarching HR strategy and championing a focus on professional learning and development.
Reporting to the Headmaster the Director of HR will be a key member of the executive leadership team. Leading a small team, responsibility will focus on recruitment, induction, performance management, compliance, professional development, administration and change management. Critical to success will be the ability to build mutually beneficial relationships with teaching and support staff whilst harnessing and building on their expertise, passion and experience.
As a highly experienced and contemporary HR professional with broad HR skills, the successful candidate will demonstrate a hands-on approach and strong capacity to think strategically and tactically. The successful candidate will present with excellent influencing and negotiation skills, complemented by strong communication skills and a flexible attitude. The ability to generate ideas, execute well thought out strategy and disciplined plans, and achieve outcomes is essential. Relevant tertiary and/or postgraduate qualifications in HR will be highly regarded.
