The Position
Firbank Grammar School seeks to appoint an exceptional and dynamic educational leader to the position of Director of Learning.  Reporting to the Principal, the Director of Learning will drive the delivery of learning outcomes, providing leadership in the development, implementation and evaluation of quality teaching practices across the School.
The Director of Learning will ensure the curriculum at Firbank remains contemporary, relevant, engaging, personalised and future facing.  The Director will lead the analysis of learning outcomes data and work with teachers and leaders toward the continued improvement of educational outcomes, while keeping pace with current research and how new teaching pedagogies may be applied.  A commitment to initiating and managing programs to support the professional development of staff will be essential.
The successful candidate will be a leader with demonstrated experience in the development and implementation of modern educational practice.  Presenting with outstanding interpersonal skills and a natural ability to engage with and influence at all levels, the appointee will demonstrate an ability to shape strategy around learning.  It is expected the appointee will present as a strong, open-minded leader who is able to think critically and challenge the team to reach exceptional outcomes.
The Organisation
Firbank Grammar School was established in 1909 and today caters for approximately 1300 students.  Year 7-12 girls at Brighton Senior School campus, ELC – Year 6 girls at Brighton Turner House campus and ELC – Year 6 coeducational at Sandringham House Campus.  The community is enriched by boarders who join the Brighton Senior School campus from rural areas and overseas.
