The Organisation
Albury Wodonga Health (AWH) is a unique cross-border health service, providing the ‘Best of Health’ to more than 250,000 people across North East Victoria and Southern New South Wales. Operating under the Victorian Department of Health and across 17 campuses, AWH is the second largest regional health service provider and is a major player in community life within the region.
AWH has been a combined Health Service for approximately 12 years, and it is now at a time of maturity where the service is moving to the next phase of growth and expansion of capacity, leadership and profile as a major regional service.
The Position
The Director of Performance is a newly created senior leader within the Performance Unit and reports directly to the CEO.  Providing strategic leadership in organisational performance and analysis, the Director of Performance will lead the unit to support good governance and maximise value for the Health Service in achieving service outcomes. Leading the development of frameworks and management tools that reflect good practice, the Director will ensure exemplary levels of performance and analysis and integrity of health information for strategic decision-making purposes that fosters service improvement.
Providing expert advice to the CEO and Executive team on current and emerging organisational performance and ensuring it is reflective of health policy trends at state and national levels, the Director develop and refine information systems for modelling and analysis across the service.
With proven experience as a strategic leader the successful incumbent will have highly developed communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to consult, negotiate and influence, developing effective relationships with a variety of stakeholders. Strong financial and performance management skills as well as analytical, research and problem solving skills will be key to the success of this role.
