The Position
The Department of Justice and Regulation is seeking to appoint a contemporary leader to the position of Director, People Partnerships and Development. With responsibility for strategic HR planning, the Director will also lead the implementation and successful delivery of HR support through a newly established HR business partner team. In this unique role you will lead a dedicated team across key functions including a large, well established learning and development team with a registered training organisation, Aboriginal Employment Team, diversity related initiatives and other organisation wide projects.
You will be responsible for leading HR strategy development and planning and ensuring its alignment to the corporate plan and other departmental objectives and deliverables.
Reporting to the Executive Director People and Culture, you will work collaboratively across the broader P&C team and lead the development and implementation of a revised structure to ensure the successful delivery of HR support to the department at both strategic and operational levels.
With a willingness to work flexibly and collaboratively, the successful candidate will have leadership experience in a strategic HR business partner model in a large and complex organisation. You will have the management skills to provide a coordinated and client-focused service across functional areas of HR including learning and development, diversity, talent management, succession planning, performance management, recruitment and cultural change. Results-focused, the ideal candidate will have superior interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective professional relationships with a broad range of stakeholders. Public sector experience and appropriate tertiary qualifications would be highly regarded.

The department manages a wide range of portfolios including Corrections Victoria, Youth Justice, Civil Justice, Emergency Management Victoria, Liquor, Gaming and Racing and Consumer Affairs Victoria.
