Director Sector Development, Solar Victoria

The position
The Director Sector Development will ensure the renewables industry and workforce has the investment, training and innovation needed to meet targets and continuously improve over the lifetime of this nation-leading solar program. The role will develop and implement strategies to coordinate sector investment that will increase the quality, safety and affordability of household solar products and services in Victoria.
Reporting to the CEO, the Director will work with providers and other government bodies to ensure the delivery workforce has the technical skills and safety capability to implement this state-wide energy initiative. The role will also engage with network service providers to ensure network innovation that will enable program delivery. The Director work closely with the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning contributing to the existing energy reform agenda.
The successful candidate will be a forward thinking and well credentialled leader who understands the energy sector. Critical to success will be outstanding communication skills, and a demonstrated track record in stakeholder engagement and management, including influencing and negotiating mutually beneficial outcomes and partnerships. Relevant tertiary qualifications are essential.
The organisation
In an Australian first, the newly established Solar Victoria will deliver solar panels to 700,000 homes over the next 10 years.
This exciting, $1.34 billion program will also see solar hot water installed in 60,000 Victorian households and batteries to 10,000.
Solar Victoria will be based in Morwell with a Melbourne office presence.
