The Position
The Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH) is seeking to appoint a Director of Security and Safety to lead and develop a modern-day strategic and operational function, ensuring a high quality customer service that provides a consistently safe environment for staff, patients, visitors and other stakeholders. Working collaboratively across RMH, the Director will create and promote a highly integrated and proactive approach to people’s security and safety.
Reporting to the Executive Director, People and Culture and managing a team of 30 plus people, the Director will be a contemporary leader and regarded as an expert in security and safety. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate considerable senior level experience managing security, safety and risk in the public or private sector and leading a large operational security and safety service.
With a focus on innovation and process improvement combined with strong integrity, the new Director will be highly skilled in building relationships and stakeholder management and have a track record of change management and motivating teams in a high-pressure environment. A sound understanding of OHS will be useful and a current security advisor licence essential. Although a background in health is not essential, this position will suit someone with a genuine interest in contributing to a hospital environment.
