The Position 

The Director Stakeholder Engagement provides leadership and key advice on strategic stakeholder and community engagement, strategies for best practice engagement and proactively driving stakeholder communications and forums.​

You will work with Traditional Owners and your stakeholders include local government, community organisations, industry stakeholders, and educational and training institutions.

The Director will provide best practice engagement strategy and implementation advice to the newly established SEC Implementation Office. With this newly established role, leading and growing the small stakeholder team to be high performing and values aligned will be essential.

The successful candidate will be a forward thinking specialist stakeholder professional who understands the development, opportunities and challenges that come with major projects and energy sector transition. Key capabilities to thrive in this role are innovative stakeholder management, organisational nous and working collaboratively in fast-paced settings.

Demonstrated experience in engagement with stakeholders for major projects (particularly in energy or renewables projects) will be highly regarded.

 

The Organisation 

The Victorian Government is bringing back the State Electricity Commission (SEC) to speed up Victoria’s move to renewable energy. The new SEC is investing in renewables to power Victoria’s clean energy future. It will invest $1 billion towards delivering 4.5 gigawatts of power through renewable energy projects.

This will provide cleaner, more reliable and affordable power to Victorian households, businesses and industries. It also will invest in the training and skills to build our clean energy workforce of the future.
