The Position
Melbourne Polytechnic are seeking a dynamic leader to shape Vocational Education and Training (VET) programs and drive key strategic educational initiatives. The role will lead and manage financially sustainable and quality educational programs that drive a contemporary curriculum and create quality outcomes for students.
The Director will motivate and inspire the team, building relationships with a range of stakeholders, including the business community, government, other institutes and alumni. Supporting growth and enabling the student journey, this key role will continue the improvement of vocational courses, pathways and applied learning that integrate with industry.
The ideal candidate will bring their thought leadership, extensive VET knowledge and operational expertise to the team. With a commercial mindset, the appointee will be able to manage complexity, while leading and managing the planning, reporting and evaluation of courses. Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with a detailed understanding of government priorities, ASQA processes, accountabilities and their implications in an educational environment, will be key to success in this significant role.

Melbourne Polytechnic has been delivering vocational training since 1912 and today offers a diverse range of innovative, hands-on TAFE (VET) and Higher Education (Degree) programs to equip students with the knowledge and skills to excel in an evolving and challenging marketplace.
Industry and professional career programs, including a range of degrees, certificates and diplomas are offered at seven campuses and training centres throughout metropolitan Melbourne and country Victoria, with subjects in the arts, social and related behavioural sciences, engineering, education, and natural sciences and technology.
