The Position
Reporting to the Chief Experience Officer, the Director Workforce Planning & Business Partnerships is a new position that has been created to provide strategic leadership and operational delivery of the human resources functions across the Women’s.  The Director plays a critical role in meeting the business needs of a very busy tertiary hospital by effectively managing, leading and inspiring the Workforce Planning and Business Partnerships team.
In this role, you will actively lead the provision of advice and guidance to senior business and clinical leaders and work collaboratively with the Director, People and Patient Experience to ensure an integrated approach to the entire employee experience. To be successful in this role, you must be able to develop credible, trusting and influential relationships right across the organisation.  A key component of the role will be to provide leadership through the adoption of contemporary human resource management practices, contributing to the development of manager knowledge and skill.
The successful candidate would ideally have gained experience within a healthcare environment, contributing to a strong understanding of the highly regulated, 24/7 environment which the Women’s operates in.  With demonstrated strong prior experience in industrial relations, workforce planning and recruitment, the appointee will be strategic in their approach and present with a ‘can do’ attitude.  The successful candidate will be seen as a trusted advisor across all levels of the hospital and will have the ability to engage and influence a broad group of stakeholders.  Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline are essential.
The Organisation

As a specialist hospital, the Women’s is central to the Victorian health system, particularly with respect to advocating for women’s health and leading innovation for the health and wellbeing of women and newborns. The Women’s is a major teaching hospital and internationally-recognised for its medical research.
Each year, the Women’s provide in excess of 250,000 episodes of care for women from 189 countries, who speak 90 different languages and follow 69 separate religious faiths.
